Centre Technologies Awards 2026 Kathy Pace Technology Scholarship

HOUSTON, TX — September 3, 2026 — Centre Technologies announced the recipients of its annual Kathy Pace Technology Scholarship, awarding $5,000 scholarships to Zeviel Pineda and Atticus Sage, two students whose passion for science, engineering, and technology reflects the values that inspired the scholarship's creation.

The Kathy Pace Technology Scholarship honors the late Kathy Pace, whose belief in education and her community while supporting others continues to inspire future generations of technology leaders. Established by Centre Technologies, the scholarship recognizes students pursuing technology-related fields who demonstrate innovation and a commitment to using technology as a force for future change.

Selected from a competitive pool of applicants, Zeviel Pineda and Atticus Sage stood out for their academic excellence, leadership potential, and vision for how technology can improve lives and strengthen communities.

Pineda is attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he plans to study neuroscience and engineering. Inspired by a childhood concussion and the physician who helped him understand the science behind his recovery, Pineda developed a fascination with the human brain and the potential for technology to advance healthcare.

For Zeviel, the scholarship's impact extends beyond financial assistance. "The scholarship removes a lot of financial stress and allows me to focus more fully on why I'm going to MIT in the first place," said Pineda. "It also allows me to spend more time tutoring because I want to help students, rather than because I need to earn money for school expenses."

Sage is attending the Colorado School of Mines, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His interest in engineering began through an early aptitude for mathematics and grew through advanced physics coursework, where he discovered a passion for understanding how systems work and solving complex problems.

He sees engineering as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through innovation. "I want to use engineering and technology to solve practical problems that improve people's lives," said Sage. "Whether that's designing more efficient systems, creating better solutions for communities, or helping advance innovation within my field, I want the work I do to have a positive and lasting impact."

Beyond recognizing academic achievement, the Kathy Pace Technology Scholarship seeks students who embody the spirit of encouragement, service, and lifelong learning. Applicants submit transcripts, letters of recommendation, and essays outlining what technology means to them and how they hope to shape its future impact.

"Zeviel and Atticus bring the curiosity and determination to make a positive difference and I'm excited to see how they build their own legacy."

For both students, the scholarship provides more than financial assistance. It creates opportunities to focus on educational goals, explore new experiences, and invest in the skills needed to become future technology leaders.

"The Kathy Pace Scholarship represents everything we hope to encourage in the next generation of innovators," said Chris Pace, Founder and CEO of Centre Technologies. "Zeviel and Atticus bring the curiosity and determination to make a positive difference and I'm excited to see how they build their own legacy. Their ambitions reflect the values my mother embodied throughout her life, and we're honored to support them as they pursue their educational and professional goals."

The scholarship continues a tradition of investing in students who are committed to using technology to create meaningful change. Previous recipients have gone on to build successful careers in engineering, software development, and technology leadership, demonstrating the lasting impact that educational opportunities can have on individuals and the communities they serve. As a company dedicated to helping businesses succeed, Centre Technologies remains committed to supporting future innovators who will shape the next generation of technological advancement.
